BLOCKSetc production process — from raw lumber to finished personalized gifts

From our homestead to yours — cut, engraved, finished, and lovingly packed.

01

Sourcing the Wood

Every piece starts with Michigan-sourced, kiln-dried, furniture-grade hard maple. We choose this wood for its durability, consistent grain, and the way it ages beautifully over time. No veneers. No composites. Just solid hardwood.

02

Milling & Preparation

Raw lumber is hand-milled to precise dimensions in our workshop. Each block, board, or ornament is cut and shaped individually — not pulled from a warehouse shelf. This is where the piece begins to take form.

03

Design & Personalization

Your details — names, dates, artwork, handwriting — are carefully laid out in our design software. For custom orders, this is a collaborative process with multiple design options and revisions until it's exactly right.

04

Precision Laser Engraving

Each piece is engraved using professional-grade laser equipment for clean, permanent, and incredibly detailed results. The precision of laser meets the warmth of natural wood.

05

Hand Finishing

After engraving, every piece is sanded smooth by hand and finished with care. This is the step that transforms wood into something you want to hold, display, and keep. No machine can replace this.

06

Quality Check & Packaging

Every order is inspected, wrapped in gift-ready packaging, and shipped with care. We under-promise and over-deliver — because the unboxing is part of the experience.

Why Michigan Hard Maple?

Not all wood is created equal. We use furniture-grade hard maple because it's dense, durable, and engraves with exceptional clarity.

It resists wear, sands to a smooth finish, and ages beautifully — developing a warm patina over the years that makes each piece feel even more like an heirloom.

Every board is kiln-dried and sourced from Michigan — because supporting local matters, and because we know this wood inside and out.
